Join Metahuman Dave for a Free Fat Burning, Muscle Building Workout on Sunday

Building a tribe of badasses

Working out isn't always fun.

Well, that really depends on what you are doing to get your exercise.

Many people hear the words working out and their mind starts picturing big, bulky bodybuilders lifting weights or using machines to sculpt their bodies. While yes, that is a way to work out, that's not the direction the general population needs to take to get their body in peak physical shape.

Personally, I find that kind of workout style to be boring. I can do it for short periods before I completely lose interest.

Maybe you've felt the same way?

Have you done a standard bodybuilding style workout but lost interest only to not come back to the gym?

It happens to the best of us.

It may just be that you just needed a different approach to fitness.

I like to enjoy life, and since working out is a major part of my life, I try to make my workouts fun and functional.

I've discussed briefly a HIIT workout in the past. You can read it here.

So for brevity, HIIT = High Intensity Interval Training.

The basic concept here is to choose a few different exercises that you would do consecutively back to back in a circuit-style workout.

For example, I may choose 4 exercises to do. I'd set a tabata timer to set my work and rest times and I will proceed to the next exercise station each time the timer goes off. I tend to go through each circuit 2 times. After an extended rest period, I will choose another circuit of exercises and complete another set.

This may sound more confusing than it needs to be, but it really is simple.

There are a few reasons I enjoy this style of workout:

  • 1. Short, intense workouts give great results without taking up a lot of time.

(Under 30 minutes of work in most cases will have me spent)

  • 2. We will hit many body parts in a short time-period allowing us to gain strength, balance,               coordination, and melt fat faster than just about any other workout style.
  • 3. You can customize the workouts so they're always different which negates boredom.
  • 4. Many of the exercises are going to be functional lifts or movements that will translate easily         into everyday life
  • 5. It's challenging and fun!

The other training method I like to use is Strongman training.

The beauty of strongman training is that unlike bodybuilding which uses perfectly balanced bars and weights or machines designed to help you through the movement pattern, strongman training uses implements that replicate real-life situations.

This is especially true for those who work on a farm or barn. One of the greatest lifts we use is actually called a farmers walk!

The unique implements that Strongman uses are also a cure for gym boredom. There are so many cool and interesting moves and tools used in Strongman, each with its own challenges that inspire us to work towards improving.

Strongman is not to be intimidated by, the sport is open to all fitness levels. We all have to start somewhere.

The HIIT workouts that I have used in the past for clients have incorporated both methods.

This has always allowed for us to get fantastic results while keeping things fun and interesting. No matter your age, gender, or fitness level, we all need to work on strength, balance, and coordination so why not do it while burning fat and having fun?

On Sundays, I do an outdoor workout in my yard. I always combine Strongman and HIIT to create a fun, explosive, short full-body workout that will put my body in fat-burning mode for many hours.

I am inviting you to join me on Sundays for a free workout.

We will be working out in Mulberry.

Since this is my workout day, I will be here to guide and show the workouts but it will be unstructured meaning we will all be working out together as a group. You can follow along with my circuit or you can use any of the implements on your own as you see fit.

The purpose of this group is twofold:

First it's to create a community of people who are interested in having a fun workout and second, it's to create accountability. Showing up to work out each week should be the goal.

Since we work out outdoors, the workouts are weather permitting.

This is also why we choose to work out in the mornings to avoid the brutal summer heat that's coming soon.

Right now I've been working out at 9 am, but the time is flexible if we get enough interest from people that want a different time.

If you want to join me for a free workout on Sundays, email me dave@higherfrequencylife.com

I will look into creating a Facebook Group for us to communicate in as well. The group page can be used for coordinating workouts, asking questions, and sharing pictures or videos from the workouts.

Don't miss your chance to work out with us for free.

I don't know if we're going to keep this program free forever, but while it is free, come join us :)
