Gratitude is a superpower.
By being grateful we put out energy into the universe that we are thankful for the good in our life, in return the universe provides more abundance to be grateful for.
We've all heard like attracts like, this is why we want to put out more positive energy than negative energy so that we can have a flow of more of the thing we desire.
When we focus on the things we do not want, we are attracting more of what we do not want or have.
Let us use money as an example. Money can not, and will not ever flow to a person who has a mindset of lack.
It will not flow to those who only desire wealth in order to escape poverty. Money will flow to those who realize that money is abundant. That they have enough, they've always had enough, and they will always have enough.
Money flows to those who desire to provide the world with value in exchange for money.
How can we change our thoughts to be more positive?
By being thankful first and foremost.
Just like training your muscles in a gym, you may struggle in the beginning, but the more you practice and you get your reps in, the easier it gets. It starts to become your identity and it becomes a natural part of your day.
When you are thankful for the good in life, you begin to attract more good into your life.
This compounding effect adds up over time into an abundance of more things to be thankful for.
When you are living in this perpetual feeling of gratitude, you naturally raise your vibrational frequency ever so closer to joy.
It makes you smile more, you feel happier, and you begin having more appreciation for life and all its wonders.
You change your entire existence by putting in the effort of expressing gratitude.
How can you start the habit of gratitude?
When you wake up, immediately say thank you for the new day. Then think of 5 things you are grateful for.
If you want to make it stick to your subconscious even more, write it down in a gratitude journal. (My wife has been keeping a gratitude journal for years.)
Then right before bed think of another 5 things you are grateful for. It's ok to use some of the same answers in the beginning until the flow of gratitude becomes easier for you.
The reason I recommend these 2 times of day to practice this is because we are trying to tap into the subconscious mind which will allow us to form the habit and rewire the brain.
As your superpower gets stronger you will find yourself being grateful throughout the day for things you observe, people you interact with, sounds or songs that you hear, animals, nature, technology, art, etc.
You will notice that you smile more and that you feel a sensation of happiness far more often. Eventually happy is your normal mood.
The beauty of this transformation is, now when you find yourself in a different mood, you won't like being there anymore and you can use your skills of gratitude to help bring you back into alignment with the mood you now prefer. Happiness.
It really is a simple act that is overlooked because society wants us to be envious, jealous, angry, or sad because these lower vibrations allow people to be manipulated more easily. It makes people lose their drive or ambition. It creates consumers.
The spiritual collective is on the opposite spectrum. We want to uplift, inspire, support, coach, and raise the frequency of the world through the power of love.
I implore you to spend time in nature as often as possible to get nutrition from the sun, to observe the plants or animals around you, be thankful for the fact that you have the power of choice and that you can change your life in an instant when you make the decision.
